Berkeley County Schools supports more than 20,000 students with 3,395 staff members. It boasts a 98% graduation rate with ample programs for students to choose from. The county has 16 elementary schools, six intermediate and six middle schools, and four high schools. It also has a Pre-K learning center, a virtual school, and an adult education center.
The adult education center is particularly useful for earning a high school equivalency (HEI) diploma and completing workplace certifications.

The Adult Education Program works closely with Literacy Volunteers of the Eastern Panhandle, Inc. to address adult literacy needs in the region.
